Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor who is best recognized for her role as Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue and for which she was awarded the Emmy Award. Also, she is known for her performances in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney, the only child of a United Auto Workers senior executive as well as a domestic worker was raised with her four brothers and sisters. In childhood, Delaney dreamed about becoming an official reporter for the court. The first time she began modeling was in high school and then gaining commercials when she moved to New York. She was cast as a child's innocence in the soap opera All My Children. Since then, Delaney has appeared in numerous film and television dramas. Her career as a professional has been more successful than her private life. The talented actress has struggled with alcoholism in the past and has been through two failed marriages. She was divorced in 2005 and lost custody of the only child she was born with.
